Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS)

The field of interest of the Technology and Engineering Management Council encompasses the management sciences and practices applicable to individuals engaged in or overseeing the management of engineering, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship in a global environment. The Council provides the tools for advancing the careers of technology and innovation managers, technology professionals transitioning to management, and technology professionals with an understanding of management issues.

Dr. Kit Fai Pun is the current Chair of IEEE Trinidad and Tobago’s Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS).

Eng Pun is presently the Hon. Secretary of the Education Society Chapter and also the Chairperson of the Technology and Engineering Management Society Chapter (2015; Formerly the Technology Management Council, 2008-2014), of the IEEE Trinidad and Tobago Section (2014-2015). He is Professor of Industrial Engineering, and Campus Coordinator (Graduate Studies and Research) at The University of the West Indies (UWI), Trinidad and Tobago (T&T). Before joining UWI, Eng Pun worked in academia and in industry as operations executive, researcher, engineer and consultant in Hong Kong and the UK. Dr. Pun is Chartered Engineer (UK), and Registered Professional Engineer (Australia, Hong Kong, and T&T). He is a Fellow of Institution of Engineering and Technology, UK, Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, and Institution of Engineers, Australia. Eng Pun’s biography has been selected at Marquis Who’s Who in Science and Engineering Since 2006.

Mr. Anthony Chadee is the current Vice Chair of IEEE Trinidad and Tobago’s Technology and Engineering Management Society  (TEMS).

  • Vice President, Operations, Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago (APETT) 2014-2015.
  • Registered Engineer with the Board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago (BOETT), 19 yrs.

Eng. A. Chadee has been an active member of the IEEE for 25 years and a chartered engineer for over 10 yrs. In 2005-2007 he was the editor and assistant PRO for PEN (Professional Engineering Newsletter).

He is currently a Senior Project Manager responsible for institutional re-engineering of the water and wastewater sector through the development of an enterprise risk management framework and the design and implementation of a business continuity plan.

Eng A Chadee also instructed, supervised and mentored for 6 years part-time at UWI and UTT in Control and Digital systems engineering UWI and UTT, Industrial Project Management (UTT) and Mechatronics (UTT), and was also a consultant to UTT for Modern Maintenance Management.

Eng A Chadee has presented papers on water resources management, disaster preparedness and business continuity and maintenance management to Caribbean Water and Waste water Association (CWWA, Barbados Oct 2013), APETT (Jan 2014 ATC, Trinidad) and World Meterological Organisation (WMO, Panama 2012), SCADA Symposium (Mekorat Water, Israel 2010/2011), UWI (Project Management Nov 2013) with Journal papers in APETT proceedings, IEM 2006 Conference and CARS and FOF 2001.

Academic qualifications:

  • BSc (Electrical and Computer Engineering, Major in Control Systems Engineering 1990)
  • MSc (Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Major in Engineering Management 2004)

Engineering Experiences:

Senior Project Manager 2013 to present responsible for institutional re-engineering of the water and wastewater sector through projects such as the development of an enterprise risk management framework (US$0.2Mn) and the design and implementation of a business continuity plan (US$0.4Mn)

Design and Development of the National Water and Wastewater SCADA System (2010, US$2Mn ), National Upgrade of the Hydrological Network (2012, US$0.8Mn), National Water Resources Management System (2012, US$0.6Mn), National Standby-power network (2006-2008, US$12Mn), Disaster Preparedness Programme (2005 and continuing, US$22Mn) and Adopt A River et al.

Eng A Chadee has also held several engineering and managerial positions in WASA, namely: Deputy General Manager, Operations (2011-2012, US$30Mn Annual Budget), Deputy General Manager (Water Resources Agency, WRA, US$5Mn Annual Budget), Project Manager for Disaster Preparedness Programme (US$22Mn) and Regional Manager (US$5Mn annual budget).
